Abstract:Advanced flow measurement equipment PIV (particle image velocimetry) was adopted to measure the internal salt-out flow in an innovated centrifugal pump. The synchronization problem during measurement was guaranteed by using shaft encoder and frequency dividing circuit. Based on the platform of Visual C 6.0, the special image processing kit was developed to differentiate solid and liquid particles in the flow images. Investigation of the two-phase velocity fields prove that the crystal particles changes the relative liquid velocity distribution, and the outlet liquid velocity decreases compared with that under single phase condition. It is also concluded that the crystal particles have the tendency of moving towards the pressure side in the middle of the channel. The characteristics of salt-out flow in the pump were obtained, and some guiding advices were presented to prevent salt-out in pump impeller.

Abstract:The compressibility of maize straw has great effect on the compressing processing, properties of products compressed, optimizing processing technology and designing compressing equipments of maize straw. The compressibility of maize straw rubbed was experimentally studied under certain initial density, different forms and different moisture contents with different compressing velocities. The relation curves of bulk modulus against compressing displacement and compressing density were analyzed by means of regressive analysis. Finally, the regressive mathematical model of compressibility was obtained. The results show that moisture content, initial densities and compressing velocities have obvious effects on compressibility of maize straw rubbed. Especially, when compressing density is larger than 230 kg/m3, the compressibility of maize straw rubbed reduces significantly with increasing of compressing density.

Abstract:The tomato planting experiments in different planting densities and seasons were carried out to obtain the fruit growth data. Subsequently, the dynamic model of tomato fruit individual growth was established based on revised logistic model and the environment data (temperature, humidity, light). The experimental data were fit well with model output using Matlab software. The results indicate that tomato fruits grown in different phytomer positions and the same planting density have the same sink size. The linear relationship can be found between the diameters of different fruits with the same truss. Moreover, there is a delay of growth between different truss fruits.

Abstract:One way of navigating autonomous vehicles to perform field operations is using a vision of crop rows detection system. A new algorithm for rows recognition was presented based on machine vision and randomized method. During image pre-processing, a vertical projection method was employed to estimate the position of crop rows. Moreover, the randomized method was used for crop rows detecting. A candidate line was determined by two different localization points, which were selected from data space randomly. The threshold rule was adopted to further determine whether the candidate line is the desired one. The test results prove that the rows detection method is suitable for different crops. The average time required for a 640脳480 pixels color image is 220 ms and the recognition rate reaches 98%.

Abstract:Free-obstacle motion planning of a tomato harvesting manipulator was studied based on a pseudo-distance approach. An optimization technique and alternative approach using a forward kinematics was applied to solve the path planning, which was modeled with consideration of manipulability measure maximization and obstacle avoidance for links of the manipulator. The simulation results show that the tomato harvesting manipulator can avoid obstacles successfully and reach the objective position along a specified geometric trajectory with optimal manipulability. The joints displacement varies smoothly within theirs limits. The position absolute error and moving rate of the end-effector are 0.87 mm and 0.18 m/s respectively. the harvesting manipulators can fulfill the accuracy of tomato picking with well working efficiency.

Abstract:A method was put forward to avoid obstacles for an eggplant harvesting robot manipulator in Cartesian space. The obstacles were supposed equivalently as cylindrical-rings, and then a three-dimensional planning path problem was simplified to a two-dimensional one, which improved the real-time control performance greatly. Transforming the obstacles from work-space to configuration-space could control the robot joints directly, which could avoid complex coordinate translation using Jacobian inverse matrix. Moreover, processing properly image matrix mapped from C-space could avoid the path planning failure under A-star algorithm. The experimental results show that this algorithm with less computational amount and excellent real-time performance is suitable for harvesting natural growing eggplant automatically.

Abstract:Based on a mixed network of RS485-bus and CAN-bus, a distributed synchronization control system for fruit machine vision grader was designed by adopting a modular structure. The control system could realize synchronization with a timing signal generated by a rotary encoder, could trigger cameras timely to capture dynamic image sequence of fruits flow on conveyor of the grader when they were in preconcerted positions of the grader, could register dynamically the fruits grade information with their real-time positions after their grades had been determined by image processing unit of the grader, and could instruct corresponding discharging actuators to implement discharging process of the fruits when they had been conveyed to the discharging ports of their grades. The experimental results show that different parts of the grader are coordinated with each other under control of the synchronization control system and all fruits have been discharged at the prospective discharging ports.

Abstract:Combined with the characteristics of greenhouse measurement and control system, the spatial structure and time sequence of wireless sensor network were constructed to reduce and balance node energy consumption to prolong network lifetime. As to the network spatial structure, each mobile sink node located at the upper side of greenhouse, could provide abundant energy. Taking the mobile sink nodes as hinges, the limited energy sub-nodes made up of the stelliform wireless network. As to the network time sequence, the sub-nodes were active only in communication duration and sleeping in other phases. The maximal communication radius of sub-nodes and the minimal communication radius of sink nodes were analyzed to solve the problem of network connectivity.

Abstract:The Job-Shop problems considering material transit time and machine set-up time were studied. During the optimization and calculation, the material transit time and the influences on the Job-Shop scheduling were taken into account. Subsequently, the solution method was provided and the Job-Shop scheduling problem was solved using hybrid PSO algorithm combining GA and SA. Finally, the analysis and calculation of interaction between material transit time, machining time and machine set-up time was carried out by the simulation based on real conditions. The results show that the proposed method considering the machine set-up time and material transit time is more feasible and realistic than the scheduling which appends the material machining time directly.

Abstract:A novel method for pose normalization of 3-D mesh models was put forward based on rotation transformation. Via the theory of analytic geometry, this paper analyzed the rotation transformation of a plane, a projection transformation revolving about a basis vector, and developed the computational formula of rotation angle. We also achieved the computable rotation matrix for mesh models through further research integrating with computational graphics and probability theory. As a result, a mesh model with arbitrary position was transformed into normalized pose through rotation transformation. The experimental results show that this algorithm can calculate out the angle for rotation transformation and construct the rotation matrix to accomplish the pose estimation automatically.

Abstract:In the planetary gear transmission system, each gear-teeth cannot be arbitrary positive integers, which are subjected to drive ratio, matching and coaxial requirements. The module of gear only can take certain discrete values for the limit of national standards. It is difficult to obtain the valid solution with the classical restrictions random (CRR) optimization method based on mathematics plan theory. A discrete variables intelligent optimization method with simulation annealing algorithm was presented. The mathematical model of optimization design for two-stage 2Z-X epicyclic gearing was established and an example was presented subsequently. Compared with the CRR method, this method can obtain the global optimal solution more easily and quickly and can be used in engineering design without any post-treatment.

Abstract:The flow field inside the spool valve during spool moving was simulated and analyzed using the CFD software Fluent. The simulation results show that the transient flow force is large when the valve is in small throttle with large flow and high moving speed, which must be considered during the valve design. By the analysis of the hydraulic force act on the valve-pole, there is an additional radial force that causes valve element lockup existed. This force is difficult to be balanced with only structure method. By computing the discharge coefficient valve in static and dynamic condition, the results show that the discharge coefficient changes greatly with the spool stroke and moving state.

Abstract:In high-power direct drives for wind turbine, the control of grid-connected inverter is vital to power transporting and energy converting, and the output current with harmonic distortion is high. A filter, typically a series inductance, is adopted to reduce the switching harmonics entering the distribution network. An alternative filter is a LCL-filter, which can reduce the level of harmonic distortion. The control strategy of grid-connected inverter was used in this system based on a loop of bridge current regulator with grid voltage feed forward. A new decoupled double synchronous reference frame phase-locked loop was adopted in this system under unbalanced and distorted grid conditions. A 15 kW direct drive for wind turbine system was constructed in the laboratory. The results prove that the grid-connected inverter can run stability and has good performances.

Abstract:There are much structural and non-structural data in the agricultural equipment information network database, and the data management and mining are difficult. A new method of resource management was adopted to develop agricultural equipment information network. In the resource management system, most dynamic data were translated into html pages and stored in document server, which can reduce the load of the servers greatly. Rich clients having access to multimedia resources technology were realized by Silverlight technology and the executing efficiency of the system was improved. The application of resource management method makes the data management easier and enhances the resource usability of agricultural equipment information network.

Abstract:Control of Hopf bifurcation in guideway stick-slip motion by using Washout filter was studied. The point at which the Hopf bifurcation to be introduced was determined. Then the linear and nonlinear control gains were determined according to Hopf bifurcation condition in order to transfer the sub-critical Hopf bifurcation to be super-critical one. The result shows that the amplitude of slide-slip of the controlled guideway system is reduced to 14% of that of the uncontrolled system. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation show that Washout filter method can work well in Hopf control of guideway stick-slip motion.

Abstract:With the development of MEMS, the demands of micro-extrusion are increasing gradually. However, some problems such as the unavoidable scale effect occurring in miniaturization challenge the plastic process, mechanics and equipment. Warm micro-extrusion process is presented and the development of micro-extrusion is discussed. ABAQUS/Explicit FEM software is used to simulate the micro-extrusion to obtain the flow behaviour of the material in receptacle. The influences of equivalent stress, strain and extruding force on formability are investigated. It is found that the deforming non-uniformity in work can be improved through changing extruding velocity, the influence of extruding velocity on stress distribution is not obvious, the control of extruding velocity can reduce the extruding force effectively. Finally, the standard of convexity of extruding parts is initialized to evaluate the formability of micro-extrusion.

Abstract:The dynamic indentation fracture mechanics and particles impacting erosion theory were applied to the research of hydrodynamic suspension ultra-smooth machining. The theoretic model of nanoscale abrasive particles impacting workpiece surface micro asperities was established. Subsequently, the experiments of machining for aluminum alloy and K9 glass were carried out respectively. The results show that the hydrodynamic suspension machining is the process of nanoscale impacting the surface asperities to realize the micro removal, and the nanaoscale ultra-smooth surface without damage can be obtained during hydrodynamic suspension machining for K9 glass.

Abstract:When polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) cutting tools machine hardened steel GCr15, the effects of the chamfered edge parameters (including chamfer width and chamfer angle) on the cutting force, cutting temperature and saw-tooth chips morphology were investigated respectively. The results indicate that the main cutting force, radial force and cutting temperature increase gradually with the increment of chamfer width, but the chamfer width has less effect on the serrated saw-tooth chips. It is shown that the cutting force, radial force and cutting temperature increase with the enlargement of chamfer angle, and the radial force increases more significantly. As the chamfer angle is 20擄 , the chips has the lowest serration.

Abstract:The surface morphologies of the pronotum, abdomen, proala, membranous wing and legs of the oriental mole cricket (Gryllotalpa orientalis Burmeister) were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The coverage density and size of seta of the oriental mole cricket were measured. The contact angles of water on the body surfaces of the oriental mole cricket were determined respectively with an interface tension/wetting-angle measuring instrument (OCA20 Model). Subsequently, the relationship of wettability of the body surfaces of the oriental mole cricket with geometrical structure of its body surface was studied. The results show that the coverage densities of the seta on pronotum, proala, abdomen, legs and membranous wing of the oriental mole cricket are 40.32%, 31.82%, 23.89%, 19.11% and 14.17% respectively. The average apparent contact angles of water on the surface of the oriental mole cricket are from 110.8擄 to 141.5擄. The strong hydrophobic ability of the oriental mole cricket is appeared. The comprehensive action of the geometrically structural surface formed by seta and their hydrophobic function is the dominant mechanism of preventing adhesion of soil and water from their body surface.

Abstract:The particular geometric shape of the buffalo hoof is suitable for walking on the paddy-field and has low resistance during working. The bionic information of the buffalo hoof was extracted by reverse engineering technology, and then the bionic blade for paddy-field impeller was designed. To guide the design of paddy impeller, the mechanism of performance improvement of bionic blade was studied by numerical simulation. The simulation results show that the fluid medium impact and separation of blade surface fluid velocity mutation can be delayed by the bionic shape effectively. The bionic shape can reduce impact endurance test resistance of the separated flow, and improve the driving force of impeller. Moreover, the bionic blade may increase its driving torque.

Abstract:A non-linear dynamic model of a two-span elastic rotor-bearing system with coupling faults of pedestal looseness and rub-impact supported on three plain journal bearings was established. The complex motion characteristics of the rotor-bearing system were studied numerically. The simulation results show that the unstable rotate speed of the rotor system with coupling faults is between the single fault of pedestal looseness and rub-impact. Within the sub-critical speed range, the chaotic region is increased firstly and than reduced gradually with the increase of the looseness mass. Within the super-critical speed range, the quasi-periodic motion disappears and the chaotic region is reduced gradually with the increase of the looseness mass, and the period-3 motion region appears obviously.

Abstract:The 2-D hidden Markov model (2D-HMM) has the ability of representing the signals, which are non-stationary and worse reappearance in the rotor run-up process. Analyzing the relationship of different level wavelet coefficients and the same levels, a new filtering method based on wavelet 2D-HMM was proposed and its detail steps were presented. Finally, this method was validated by the data collected from Bently-Nevada rotor experimental system (Model 24755). The results demonstrate that it is effective to remove the noise of non-stationary signals of rotor system.

Abstract:Introducing the complex wavelet transform into the fault feature extraction of automobile main reducer, a fault feature extraction method for automobile main reducer based on complex Morlet wavelet transform was proposed. Aimed at the characteristics of main reducer vibrating signal, two groups of compounding information for the extraction of mechanical fault feature were constructed according to the magnitudes and phases of complex wavelet transform. The simulation results show that the phases of complex wavelet transform and compounding information are more sensitive to singular points of signal than magnitudes, which can extract singularity of signal efficiently and position the singular points of signal accurately. Subsequently, the fault signal of automobile main reducer was analyzed by complex wavelet transform with its compounding information and real wavelet transform respectively. The results show that main reducer fault feature points can be positioned accurately by compounding information, and the decomposition just needs scale 1 calculation, which reduces the calculation greatly for fault feature extraction.

Abstract:The performance of existing independent component analysis methods is highly affected by the non-linear contrast functions selected according to the distribution of original signals, and the separation results are unsatisfied. To solve this problem, an improved independent component analysis method based on genetic algorithm was proposed. Then simplified mutual entropy among signals was adopted as the optimization function. The probability of separated signals was estimated by histogram method, and the mutual entropy could be evaluated. The genetic algorithm was applied to find the optimum separation matrix to minimize the simplified mutual entropy. Simulation results show that the proposed independent component analysis method is more effective than FastICA. Finally, this method was applied to diagnose the fault of rolling bearing. The results show that modified independent component analysis method can separate the mixture of rolling bearing sound signal and electromotor signal well, and improve the diagnostic information quality.

Abstract:Based on the theory for water movement in non-saturated soil, the mathematical model of film hole irrigation was developed to describe soil water movement of the film hole irrigation. The SWMS3D software was used to solve the model and the results were testified with laboratory experiments. The numerical simulation values are coincided with the experimental values, which show that the model is credible. Finally, the affects of irrigation water technologies elements on the soil wetting pattern, film hole infiltration volume of film hole irrigation were simulated and analyzed. The results indicate that the soil character, bulk density, initial water content, film hole diameter and irrigation water depth have slight effects on the wetting pattern, and the film hole space have obvious effects on the soil water contribution near the film hole when the film hole space is large. The soil character and bulk density have obvious effects on water infiltration characters. Meanwhile, initial water content and irrigated water depth have slight effects on water infiltration characters. The average infiltration water depth of film hole control zone with infiltration time is mainly affected by open hole ratio and film hole diameter.

Abstract:According to the basic structure of diesel engine, 1-dimensional model of TDI diesel engine with EGR system was established. An EGR control unit was constructed using the optimum EGR rates map of diesel engine test experiment as control map of EGR control unit. Subsequently, a 1-dimensional simulation about the influence of EGR on the whole operating process of diesel engine was carried out, and it was realized that EGR rates was continuously changing with diesel engine rotate speed and load when EGR was used in diesel engine. Taking diesel engine rotate speed 1900 r/min and load 10% as an example, the simulation results show that A/F ratio, cylinder pressure, the temperature in the cylinder and exhaust gas temperature are decreased and the gas mass in the cylinder is increased when EGR is used in the diesel engine. All conclusions of simulation are identical with that of the diesel engine test experiment.

Abstract:A double electronic valves fuel system was established by adopting an electronic unit pump and an electronic injector of common rail. The electronic unit pump is used for fuel supply adjusting and the electronic injector of common rail is used for fuel injection control. Subsequently, the characteristics of the fuel system were analyzed by experiment and simulation. The different fuel injection laws were obtained with different time intervals from fuel supply advance angle to fuel injection advance angle. The pilot injection was realized by means of two times injector controls during the course of fuel supply. With prolonged fuel supply time, the high pressure injection was realized at low speed. The results show that the double valves fuel system reserves the advantages of traditional fuel system and has the more flexible characteristics during the circle of diesel, which will be more favorable to the dynamic performance of diesel.

Abstract:Adopting the Di-tertiary-butyl peroxide as the additive, the starting-up performance of a compressed ignition natural gas engine was studied experimentally. The results show that the starting-up performance of engine is improved by adding certain Di-tertiary-butyl peroxide additives. During starting-up, if the mass fraction of Di-tertiary-butyl peroxide additive reaches to 14.2%, engine ignition can be realized at ambient temperature with a glow plug of 750擄C. If the glow plug temperature reaches to 1120擄C, engine ignition can be realized at ambient temperature with a mass fraction of Di-tertiary-butyl peroxide additive below 6.7%. However, an excessive additive will lead to the engine knocking.

Abstract:Based on the physical characteristics of the intake system in a coal-bed gas engine equipped with two-valve type gas mixer, a hierarchical model for steady state air fuel ratio feed-forward control was established using mean value and polynomial regression analysis as well as fuzzy-neural network modelling methods. A 3D original control MAP graph was generated from the model. By means of an identified adaptive neural fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) model of the excess air factor, the simulation of static state air fuel ratio feed-forward control was carried out. Subsequently, the actual engine control experiment was performed with data produced by the feed-forward control model. The results show that the feed-forward control model has good predication ability. Maximal and average prediction errors of the model are less than 8% and 5%, respectively.

Abstract:The combustion noise of a biogas and diesel dual-fuel engine is evaluated by time region and frequency region comprehensively. The effects of engine rotate speed, engine load, the advance angles of fuel supply and the biogas replacement rate on the combustion noise were analyzed. The result shows that the total combustion sound pressure level is less affected by the engine rotate speed at 21擄CA BTDC (crankshaft angle before top dead center). The combustion sound pressure level increases with the increasing of the engine load at the same engine rotate speed. The cylinder pressures of the two types of engines change markedly when the fuel supply advance angle increases to 24擄CA BTDC. The increasing of engine rotate speed results in the oscillation of the cylinder pressure at high frequencies, and the cylinder pressure increases with the increasing of engine load at low and middle frequencies.

Abstract:The working principle and key technologies for reliable design of EPS controller were analyzed. The signal processing circuit and the power drive circuit were hierarchically designed to improve the anti-jamming capability and reliability. The PWM frequency was selected considering the relationship between the PWM frequency and the natural frequency of the mechanical system, the influence on the armature current ripple and the noise impact on people. Meanwhile, the influence of switching current pulse on the safety of the transistors and the motor should be taken into account. Three MOS transistors were paralleled for the economy, the heat dissipation and the reliability. The heat dissipation flake and its relevant parameters were selected to improve the drive efficiency and the stable operation capability.

Abstract:The rotary valve parameters have significant influences on the assist effort characteristics of the flow control type electronic controlled hydraulic power steering (ECHPS) system. The calculating procedures of the equivalent flow area and assist effort characteristics of a flow control type ECHPS system were analyzed using the principles of hydraulic resistance networks. The mathematical relations between the orifice area of the rotary valve and the configurable design parameters (the metering edge width, the metering edge eccentric distance, the flange width and the slot length of the input shaft) were deducted. Subsequently, the optimum parameters of the rotary valve were obtained by optimization design technique. The values of these parameters were optimized from 0.9 mm, 10 mm, 5.76 mm and 11 mm to 1.115 mm, 4.626 mm, 5.652 mm and 4.499 mm. The numerical simulation results show that the alterable assist effort range is increased from 1.2 to 3, and the maximal steering wheel force is 4 N路m in low speed.

Abstract:The temperature and thermal stress distributions of ceramics/metal functional gradient cylinder were simulated by finite element method (FEM). Using the indirect solution method of thermal analysis and subsequently structural analysis of ANSYS10.0 software, the simulations were carried out under stable working conditions and the third type boundary conditions of piston in IC engine. The effects of gradient composition distribution index p on the temperature of piston head and the thermal stress at the gradient layers of ceramics/metal were studied respectively. Finally, the optimal design result corresponding to the gradient composition distribution index p=0.6 was obtained for easing the thermal stress.

Abstract:With the aim to improve the quality of Chaenomeles sinensis (Thouin) Koehne slices, its hot-air drying (60擄C, 70擄C, 80擄C), microwave drying (210 W, 350 W, 560 W) and combined hot-air (70擄C)/microwave (210 W) drying experiments were carried out respectively. The results show that the drying rate of Chaenomeles sinensis (Thouin) Koehne slices moisture is declining mostly during the drying process. There is a slightly drying rate accelerating period and there is not constant drying rate period during the whole drying process. The drying mathematical model accords with Page formula. For the drying experiments, the hot-air drying took the longest drying time, the combined drying experiments followed and the microwave drying took the shortest drying time. The total flavonoids content retained the highest by the combined drying and the 60擄C hot-air drying, which were 1.98% and 1.94%. 螖 E of the 70擄C hot-air drying was closed to that of the fresh material. However, the color of Chaenomeles sinensis (Thouin) Koehne slices of all the hot-air drying was better than that of the combined drying.

Abstract:A fuzzy neural network control strategy based on gray prediction was presented and applied in control system of incubation process. The main parameters of incubation were predicted by gray prediction. The dynamic characteristics were controlled by fuzzy neural network to keep the accuracy and stability. The simulated results show that the system can make the object stable in 50 s, and it has good dynamic and static characteristics.

Abstract:With the aim to ensure biomass entrained-flow gasification in a slagging gasifier, the characteristics of biomass fusing ash using CaO and Fe2O3 as fusing agent were investigated respectively by experiments. Subsequently, the influence of fusing agent on the gasification reactivity of biomass chars was studied. The results indicate that when the weight percent of CaO is 0.3-0.4, the melting point drops down apparently; when the weight percent of CaO is higher than 0.4, the melting point increases. While the addition of Fe2O3 increases at 0-0.5, the melting point decreases sharply. When the amounts of CaO and Fe2O3 are low, they can promote the reaction rate of char gasification. However, as the amounts of two additives increase, the fusing agents attach on the porous surface of chars and prevent the gas from the surface of chars, so the gasification reactivity decreases.

Abstract:The axial flow threshing roller of 4LZ-3 combine harvester was divided into three sectors: feeding sector, threshing sector and separation sector. The movement of cereal passing through each sector was analyzed based on reasonable assumptions. Subsequently, formulas of absolute velocity, relative velocity and axial direction velocity were deduced considering the friction force. The results show that the helix angle of feeding sector should be smaller than the complementary angle of friction angle between cereal and helix lamina, helix angle of threshing sector and separation sector should be smaller than friction angle between cereal and leading lathing respectively.

Abstract:The factors affecting the range of complete fluidic sprinkler are inlet press, sprinkler elevation, sectional area, rotate speed, step frequency, pipe length, and signal junction depth. An experimental study on the influence of these factors on the range respectively was carried out. The experimental results show that the inlet press and sectional area are direct proportion to the range of the sprinkler, the rotate speed and step frequency are inverse proportion to the range of the sprinkler, and the pipe length and signal junction depth have less influence on the range of the sprinkler. Subsequently, the orthogonal test of five factors and four levels was conducted on inlet press, sprinkler elevation, sectional area, pipe length, and signal junction depth. The results were analyzed with the method of synthesis point rating. The influencing factors of range are inlet press, sprinkler elevation, sectional area, signal junction depth, and pipe length in sequence.
