A hand-pushed shield boom sprayer was developed based on a knapsack small motor-driven sprayer. Several measurements were done both in room and open field. Results showed that shield could lead horizontal air down to wheat canopy to increase the canopy penetration, especially for small size droplets, and improve the distribution near nozzle obviously. The anti-drift efficacy under 0.4MPa with nozzle ST110-015 was the best. The tests showed that the anti-drift efficacy changed with different droplet sizes, and it was better for small size droplets than for large size droplets.
