The combustion light intensity wave and the rate of heat release of diesel are much different, while the combustion luminous mechanism of diesel spray has not been discovered, so the transforming model of them couldn’t be obtained by linear method. Based on the BP neural network,,non-linear relation between the combustion light intensity wave and the rate of heat release was set up, the rate of heat release of diesel engine was reconstructed by processing the combustion light intensity wave precisely.
